In my various positions over the years, I’ve been able to experience ODYSSEY’s website as a writer, coder and multimedia journalist, each of them independent of each other but also coexistent. Through each of these domains, I’ve learned the power of multimedia storytelling and how to cater to a wide variety of audiences as well as how to combine multiple forms of storytelling to create an engaging user experience across our website.
These stories are often shorter, but prioritize engagement and multimedia, serving a purpose best fit for web. I’ve had the opportunity to write several of these, from beats to breaking news.
In addition to implementing multimedia into my own stories, I often do it with others’, trying to both inform and engage readers.
Packages can be one, really in-depth story with a ton of multimedia or a combination of stories and multimedia centered around a larger story, or theme. Most of my work with these lies in the coordinating and on the back end.
